EUROPEAN HAEMOPHILIA CONSORTIUM
EVENT CODE OF CONDUCT POLICY
The meetings, conferences and virtual conferences of the European Haemophilia Consortium (EHC) provide an important avenue for the exchange of information and resources intended to help improve the quality of life of all members of the European bleeding disorders community. All individuals and groups attending the EHC's meetings should be assured the opportunity for:
- Unencumbered access to information and resources, and
- A secure or non-threatening environment within which they can exchange information.
Under no circumstances will the EHC allow the participation of individual members of the bleeding disorders community, or others in attendance, to be compromised by potentially threatening language, potentially threatening actions/activities or any form of harassment.
To that end, we believe setting forth a clear set of behavioural expectations promotes an atmosphere of dignity and respect for all.
The EHC appreciates and values individual differences and welcomes diversity in its broadest definition. Many different opinions and experiences may be shared so please exchanges respectful and professional.
In addition, the EHC will not tolerate any harassment towards any individual. We expect all participants - patient representatives, health care providers, industry representatives, service providers, staff, exhibitors and other guests - to treat all individuals with respect and dignity. The EHC will not tolerate offensive, aggressive, antagonistic and/or contentious behaviour. A non-exhaustive list of examples includes:
- Abusive verbal comments or slurs or visual displays of an offensive nature,
- Any form of discrimination or harassment,
- Undue behaviour and vulgarities,
- Disrupting meeting proceedings,
- Personal threats,
- Unwelcome sexual advances and other verbal conduct of a sexual nature. Some common examples of conduct that is prohibited include:
- Unwelcome sexual flirtations, advances or propositions;
- Graphic or suggestive comments about an individual’s dress or body;
- Sexual joke and innuendo; or
- Asking questions regarding an individual’s sexual conduct, orientation, or preference.
- Business solicitation of any products or services to meeting attendees, now or in the future, is not permitted.
All of the above include public and private chats during EHC online conference chats, activity feeds and Q&A.
If the situation cannot be resolved amicably, the EHC Steering Committee has the authority to revoke registration privileges. In order to ensure an orderly, safe and productive meeting, the EHC reserves the right to deny registration to any applicant and to revoke the registration privileges of any attendee.
All information will be kept in confidence to the greatest extent practical and appropriate under the circumstances.
Please help us to ensure that all EHC participants enjoy an inclusive, safe and respectful environment.
